Abstract

Secure electronic transaction (SET) is a significant-commerce protocol designed to improve the security of
creditcard purchases. In this paper we discuss various securitymeasuresand protocols which are used till date and are
still usedfor the security of online transaction in which electronic cashflows from buyer to the supplier or merchant.
Various issuesdiscussed in this paper are SET protocol, Authenticated and KeyAgreement for P2P-Based Networks,
Mutual Authenticationbetween Cardholder and Merchant, Biometric Mechanism for
enhanced Security of Online Transaction, Using a Mobile Deviceto Enhance Customer Trust in the Security of
RemoteTransactions, Digital content mediator for secure P2P onlinetransactions,Sensitive Data Transfer Security Model
finally wewill see the SMS-Based Authentication Scheme.
